On Wednesday, December 6th, 2023, our loving, caring, devoted father, Ward, age 95, was taken quietly from his family and friends to his final resting place; may God watch over him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Elizabeth Herrick, (nee Lietz), mother, Margaret ( nee Bourne,) Herrick, father Ward Herrick, brothers, Brian Herrick, Lawrence Herrick, and sister, Dorisanne Ward.
He is survived by his three children, Teri Rae Suehs (John), Randy Lawrence Herrick (Elizabeth), and Michael Ward Herrick (Stacie), grandchildren, David John Suehs (Sara), Kristina Rae Boehnlein (Jeremy), Joshua Carl Ward Suehs (Kayla), Kayla Herrick, Brittany Herrick (and fiancé Bradley Ahrens) , and Danielle Herrick and great grandchildren, Wesley Herrick Suehs, Rylan Arthur Suehs, Zoey Marie Suehs, Evylyn Rae Boehnlein, Olivia Jean Boehnlein, Jessa Lauren Suehs, Cooper Levi Suehs, Brody Eli Suehs, Aria Raelynn Anderson, Kylee Joyce Herrick, and Hayden Berres Goulet.
He was born on May 17th, 1928 in Jump River, WI. Ward went to grade school in Jump River and high school in Wisconsin Dells. He moved to Milwaukee and worked for many years at Wisconsin Electric Company. He was a veteran of the Korean War and stationed in Korea for several years. He retired from WEPCO and moved to Eagle River, WI and then to New Port Richey, FL with his wife, Joyce, to golf and enjoy retirement. They enjoyed many years together until his wife was taken unexpectedly on July 17th, 2009. May God watch over her forever.
Ward then moved back to Wisconsin to be near family. He was an avid reader and especially loved our local library.
No flowers please, as the celebration of life will be in the summer with family. Donations to the Sturm Memorial Library are welcome in his name. Thank you so much!
