Willard 'Willie' Harris

Age 69, of Weyauwega passed away Saturday October 11, 2008 at his home following a brief illness. He was born January 31, 1939 in the Town of Helvetia, Waupaca County, son of the late Floyd and Irene (Mosher) Harris. "Willie" attended school in Ogdensburg and Waupaca. He farmed and was a truck driver for Wolf River Sausage, Faulk's Brothers and later Carew Construction. On August 2, 1969 he married Paula Kurth Schunk. She preceded him in death March 14, 2008. "Willie" was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, gardening and cooking. Survivors include a daughter: Penny Carr, Milwaukee; two grandsons: Joseph Harris, Weyauwega; Ryan Carr, Milwaukee; step son of Paula Harris: Ronald (Gloria) Schunk; a brother: Floyd Harris Jr.; a sister: Lyla (Gerald) Buckholt, Weyauwega; brother-in-law: Donald Olson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. The funeral service for "Willie" will be held 11:00 A.M Wednesday October 15, 2008 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Robbin Robbert and Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Relatives and friends may call at the Cline-Hanson Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family wishes to thank Theda Care at Home and Gloria Schunk for the loving care they gave Willard.
