William Joseph Faskell, age 71, of Iola, passed away after a courageous 18 month battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday May 26, 2012, at his home in Iola. He was born February 1, 1941, in the town of Royalton (Waupaca County), son of the late Bernard and Eva (Paronto) Faskell. Bill was self-employed his entire life. From 1985 till present he was self employed selling cattle genetics and Mega-Rack deer mineral blocks. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and his many friends. Bill's true passion in life was deer hunting with his sons and he took many big bucks over the years. Survivors include his six children: Michael Faskell, Kellie Faskell , Karrie Faskell, Matthew Faskell, Brian Faskell and Kayla Faskell ; grandchildren: McCalla, Mandy, Mattie, Hunter, Laken and Torren; siblings: Gloria (the late Red) Anderson, Mary (Ed) Smith, John (Liz) Faskell, Debbie (Steve)Schmick. He is further survived by his long time hunting buddies Jim Roland, Dan Casey and Tom Middlestadt, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Eileen Stern and Sally Stillman and a brother Bernard Faskell Jr. The Funeral Mass for Bill will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa. A visitation for Bill will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa and also at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. The family would like to give a special thank you to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee for always taking the time to care about our dad.
